What Text File Editor Can Do To find out how to do the functions in the list on the right, see Chapter 2, "Word Processing." These operations work just like Word Processing. S Edit using CUT, COPY, PASTE, DELETE S Create and save a document S Copy, rename, or backup a file S Undo your latest change S Check spelling S Search and Replace S Use Wild Cards and Special Characters S Print What Text File Editor Cannot Do If you need to use any of these features, you will need to create your document in Word Processing rather than Text File Editor. See Chapter 2, "Word Processing." S Adjust left and right margins S Adjust tab stops S Change text styles and fonts S Vary alignment S Modify line spacing S Create page breaks S Adjust rulers S Create graphics Word Wrap and Line Endings When your text reaches the right edge of the window, it wraps automatically to the next line. This feature is called word wrap. Word wrap means that you do not have to press ENTER (the Return key on a typewriter) to start a new line of text. This keeps the lines and sentences together in the same paragraph. When you are ready to begin a new paragraph, press ENTER. If you want to set line endings, press ENTER at the end of each line. If there is more text than can fit in the window, use the scroll bar to see different parts of the document. Text File Editor 312
