If you want to leave an item in its original location and also insert it somewhere else, use Copy instead of Cut. When you paste an item into a document from the clipboard, the item also remains on the clipboard unless you replace it. So you can continue to paste the same item from the clipboard to multiple locations in your document. "To copy a selection: 1. Select the item or text you want to copy. 2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu, click on the Copy icon, or press COPY. The item remains in your document and also goes to the clipboard, replacing any other item in the clipboard. 3. Move the insertion point to the location where you want the item to appear. 4. Choose Paste from the Edit menu or press PASTE. The contents of the clipboard are inserted into the document. "To replace text: 1. Select the word or words you want to replace. 2. Type the replacement text. The new text replaces the original text. "To replace one block of text with another: 1. Select the block of text you want to replace the existing text. 2. Press COPY or CUT, or choose Copy or Cut from the Edit menu. The text is placed in the clipboard. 3. Select the block of text you want to replace, and choose Paste from the Edit menu. The selection is replaced by the contents of the clipboard. Dragging and Dropping Text Move Copy Do not release the CODE key until after you have released the right mouse button. The drag and drop feature provides a quick way to move or copy text without using the clipboard. "To move or copy a selection with drag and drop: 1. Select the text you want to move or copy. 2. Move the mouse pointer over the selected text. 3. Press and hold down the right mouse button. The pointer changes to the drag and drop pointer. 4. To move, drag the pointer so that it is over the location where you want to move the selection. OR To copy, press CODE and drag the pointer. 5. Release the right mouse button. To copy a selection:
1. Select the item or text you want to copy.
2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu, click on the Copy icon, or press
COPY
.
The item remains in your document and also goes to the
clipboard, replacing any other item in the clipboard.
3. Move the insertion point to the location where you want the item to
appear.
4. Choose Paste from the Edit menu or press
PASTE
.
The contents of the clipboard are inserted into the document.

1. Select the word or words you want to replace.
2. Type the replacement text.
The new text replaces the original text.

To replace one block of text with another:
1. Select the block of text you want to replace the existing text.

The drag and drop feature provides a quick way to move or copy text
without using the clipboard.

To move or copy a selection with drag and drop:
1. Select the text you want to move or copy.
2. Move the mouse pointer over the selected text.
3. Press and hold down the right mouse button.
The pointer changes to the
drag and drop pointer.
4. To move, drag the pointer so that it is over the location where you want
to move the selection.
OR
To copy, press
CODE
and drag the pointer.
5. Release the right mouse button.
