Fax Dialog Box Selections Fax paper options Fax machines with paper narrower than 8.5" (such as A4) usually crop the edges of the image. If you know that the receiver of your fax is using narrow paper, you might change the margins on the pages you are sending to eliminate cropping of image. Width and Height. Paper size prints 8.5" by 11." You cannot change the size of the paper. If you fax a document larger than 8.5" x 11", the following message appears: The document page size is too large for the selected paper. Do you want to scale the document or leave it actual size and have it faxed on multiple sheets of paper? Select Scale to Fit to reduce the text to fit a 8.5'' x 11'' page. Select Leave Actual Size to print your fax on several pages. If you fax a document smaller than 8.5" x 11", Ensemble centers the text on the fax. Document options Fax Quality. Choose Fine or Standard. Standard is adequate for most machines. To print with greater clarity choose Fine. Fax Pages. Select All or From/to. If you select From/to, click on the arrows to select the page numbers to fax. Fax settings These restrictions on the way you type in the fax number also apply when you type in your phone and fax number in the Sender Information dialog box. Fax Number. Enter the fax number. You can enter a maximum of 20 characters. The following characters are accepted by Ensemble: "Digits 0-9, *, and # "Space "Comma. A comma briefly pauses the dialing. Use a comma when you dial 9 or another number for an outside line. Type a comma after the nine (9, 555-5578). "Hyphen "Period. You can use a period when dialing Europe (011.XX.YYY---YY): 011 (international access); XX (country code); Y (fax number). "Parentheses ( ) Last Numbers. This pop-down list shows the last ten numbers faxed. Cover Page. Click here to include a cover page or sender information for the fax. Sender information puts your name, company, and fax number on the cover page and in the fax. See the next section Using a Cover Page" for information on creating a cover page.
