While dragging to select, hold down the mouse button until you are done with the entire procedure. "To choose from a submenu by clicking: 1. Open a menu from the menu bar as you normally would. 2. Select a menu choice that has a right arrow. The submenu opens. 3. Select the choice you want from the submenu. The submenu closes. OR Close the submenu without making a choice by clicking anywhere outside the menu. "To choose from a submenu by dragging: 1. Drag to open a menu as you normally would. 2. Drag the pointer down the open menu to a choice that has a right arrow. When the pointer is over the right arrow, the submenu opens. 3. Drag the pointer to the right of the first menu and onto the submenu. 4. Drag the pointer down the submenu to the choice you want and release the mouse button. Both menus close. OR Close the menu without making a choice by dragging the pointer outside the menu and releasing the mouse button. "Pinning" a Menu Click here and drag to pin the Edit menu. If a drop-down menu covers something you need to see on the screen, you may want to pin it." A pinned menu can be moved out of the way and it stays open until you close it. If you want to keep a menu open so that you can make a series of selections from it, you can pin the menu, the same way you would pin a piece of paper to a wall. Only menus with push-pins at the top can be pinned open. "To "pin" a menu: 1. Open a menu as you normally would. 2. Click on the pushĆpin at the top of the menu. The menu stays open. 3. If necessary, click on the menu name and drag the pinned menu to the desired location on the screen. 4. To close the pinned menu, click on the Window Control button to the left of the menu name.
