When you copy or cut a selection to the clipboard, it replaces whatever is currently on the clipboard. When you move a selection, you remove or cut it from its original location and paste it into another location. When you select text in the input line, you can cut it to move it or you can copy it to another place. The selection you copy or cut is placed on the clipboard, a temporary storage space. When you press PASTE or choose Paste from the Edit menu, the contents of the clipboard are pasted into the input line. When you paste an item into a document from the clipboard, the item also remains on the clipboard unless you replace it. So you can continue to paste the same item from the clipboard to multiple locations in your document. When you select text in the input line, you can cut it to move it or you
can copy it to another place. The selection you copy or cut is placed on
the
clipboard
