DGS-3620-28SC:admin# 36-4 config gratuitous_arp send dup_ip_detected Description This command is used to enable or disable the sending of gratuitous ARP requests when a duplicate IP address is detected. By default, the state is disabled. For this command, duplicate IP detected means that the system received an ARP request packet that is sent by an IP address that matches the system's own IP address. In this case, the system knows that somebody out there is using an IP address that conflicts with that of the system. In order to reclaim the correct host of this IP address, the system can send out the gratuitous ARP request packet for this duplicate IP address. Format config gratuitous_arp send dup_ip_detected [enable | disable] Parameters enable - Enable the sending of gratuitous ARP requests when a duplicate IP is detected. disable - Disable the sending of gratuitous ARP requests when a duplicate IP is detected. Restrictions Only Administrator, Operator and Power-User level users can issue this command. This is used to automatically announce the interface's IP address to other nodes. By default, the state is disabled. When the state is enabled and IP interface is linked up, one gratuitous ARP packet will be broadcast. 449
