The network load balancing command set is used to support the Microsoft server load balancing application where multiple servers can share the same IP address and MAC address. The requests from clients will be forwarded to all servers, but will only be processed by one of them. In multicast mode, the client use the multicast MAC address as the destination MAC to reach the server. Regarding of the mode, this destination MAC is the named the shared MAC. The server uses its own MAC address (rather than the shared MAC) as the source MAC address of the reply packet. Format create nlb multicast_fdb [ | vlanid ] Parameters - Enter the VLAN name of the NLB multicast FDB entry here. This name can be up to 32 characters long. vlanid - Specifies the VLAN ID used. - Enter the VLAN ID used here. - Specifies the MAC address of the NLB multicast FDB entry to be created. Restrictions Only Administrator, Operator and Power-User level users can issue this command. Example To create a NLB multicast FDB entry: 706
