Domain Name System (DNS) Commands 28-1 clear host This command is used to clear the dynamically learned host entries in the privileged user mode. clear host {all] [HOST-NAME]} Parameters all HOST-NAME Specifies to clear all host entries. (Optional) Specifies to delete the specified dynamically learned host entry. Default None. Command Mode Privileged EXEC Mode. Command Default Level Level: 12. Usage Guideline Use this command to delete a host entry or all host entries which are dynamically learned by the DNS resolver or caching server. Example This example shows how to delete the dynamically entry "www.abc.com" from the host table. Switch# clear host www.abc.com Switch# 28-2 ip dns server This command is used to enable the DNS caching name server function. Use the no form of this command to disable the DNS caching name server function. ip dns server no ip dns server Parameters None. Default By default, this option is disabled.
