Use the no form of this command to disable the DNS domain name resolution function. ip domain lookup no ip domain lookup Parameters None. Default By default, this option is disabled. Command Mode Global Configuration Mode. Command Default Level Level: 12. Usage Guideline Use the ip domain lookup command to enable the domain name resolution function. The DNS resolver sends the query to the configured name server. The answer replied by the name server will be cached for answering the subsequent requests. Example This example shows how to enable the DNS domain name resolution function. Switch# configure terminal Switch(config)# ip domain lookup Switch(config)# 28-5 ip host This command is used to configure the static mapping entry for the host name and the IP address in the host table. Use the no form of this command to remove the static host entry. ip host HOST-NAME {IP-ADDRESS | IPV6-ADDRESS} no ip host HOST-NAME {IP-ADDRESS | IPV6-ADDRESS} Parameters HOST-NAME IP-ADDRESS Specifies the host name of the equipment.
