IP Utility Commands 41-1 ping This command is used to diagnose basic network connectivity. ping {[ip] IP-ADDRESS | [ipv6] IPV6-ADDRESS | HOST-NAME} [length LENGTH] [count TIMES] [timeout SECONDS] [stoptime SECONDS] [tos TOS] [source {IP-ADDRESS | IPV6-ADDRESS}] [frequency SECONDS] Parameters ip IP-ADDRESS ipv6 IPV6-ADDRESS HOST-NAME length LENGTH count TIMES timeout SECONDS stoptime SECONDS tos TOS source {IP-ADDRESS | IPV6-ADDRESS} frequency SECONDS (Optional) Specifies to use the IPv4 address. Specifies the IPv4 address of the destination host. (Optional) Specifies to use the IPv6 address. Specifies the IPv6 address of the system to discover. Specifies the host name of the system to discover. (Optional) Specifies the number of data bytes to be sent. The value does not include any VLAN or IEEE 802.1Q tag length. The range is from 1 to 1420. (Optional) Specifies to stop after sending the specified number of echo request packets. (Optional) Specifies response timeout value, in seconds. (Optional) Specifies to stop pining after the specified time. The range is from 5 to 99. (Optional) Specifies to configure QoS on ICMP datagrams. The range is from 0 to 255. (Optional) Specifies the source IP address used for the ping packet. The specified IP address must one of the IP address configured for the Switch. The destination address and the source IP must be the same type of address, both are IPv4 or IPv6. (Optional) Specifies the frequency time for ping. Default The length value is 56 bytes. The count value is disabled. The ping will continue until the user terminates the process. The timeout value is 1 second. The stoptime value is 5. The tos value is 0. The frequency value is 0.
