DGS-3130 Layer 3 Stackable Managed Switch CLI Reference Guide 51-6 monitor session source vlan This command is used to configure VLANs for VLAN-based monitoring. Use the no form of this command to remove VLANs from VLAN-based monitoring. monitor session SESSION-NUMBER source vlan VLAN-ID [, | -] rx no monitor session SESSION-NUMBER source vlan VLAN-ID [, | -] Parameters SESSION-NUMBER VLAN-ID , rx Specifies the session number of the monitor session. The valid range is 1 to 4. Specifies the VLAN ID to be configured for VLAN-based monitoring. The valid range is from 1 to 4094. (Optional) Specifies a series of VLANs, or separate a range of interfaces from a previous range. No space is allowed before and after the comma. (Optional) Specifies a range of VLANs. No space is allowed before and after the hyphen. Specifies to monitor the packets received on the VLAN. Default None. Command Mode Global Configuration Mode. Command Default Level Level: 12. Usage Guideline For a monitor session, multiple VLANs can be specified, but a VLAN cannot be configured as the source VLAN of multiple sessions. The VLAN-based monitor rx parameter will mirror all ingress packets on the specified VLAN ID. Example This example shows how to create a monitor session with session number 2. It assigns three VLANs (VLAN 2, VLAN 3 and VLAN 4) as monitor source VLANs. Switch# configure terminal Switch(config)# monitor session 2 destination interface ethernet 1/0/1 Switch(config)# monitor session 2 source vlan 2-4 rx Switch(config)# 51-7 remote-span This command is used to specify a VLAN as an RSPAN VLAN. Use the no form of this command to revert to a non-RSPAN VLAN. remote-span no remote-span 542
