Usage Guideline The command is available for physical port configuration. Use the command to enable support of legacy PD connected to the port. If legacy support is disabled, the system will not provide power to the legacy PD. Example This example shows how to enable legacy support for PD connected to interface eth3/0/1. Switch(config)# interface eth3/0/1 Switch(config-if)# poe pd legacy-support 56-3 poe pd priority This command is used to configure the priority for provisioning power to the port. Use the no poe pd priority command to return the priority to default setting. poe pd priority {critical | high | low} no poe pd priority Parameters critical high low Specify the PD connected to the port gains the highest priority. Specify the PD connected to the port gains the second high priority. Specify the PD connected to the port gains the low priority. Default By default, the priority is low. Since the power budget is limited, as more PDs are added to the system, the power source may not be sufficient to supply the power. The PoE system enters the power critical section when the remaining power source is not enough to serve the new added PD. Whether power is supplied to the new added PD will depend on the policy configured by poe policy preempt command. If the policy preempt setting is disabled, then the policy is first in first serviced. Thus the new PD will not be serviced if the power source is running out. 597
