Use the no form of this command to revert to the default setting. authentication timer restart SECONDS no authentication timer restart Parameters SECONDS Specifies the authentication restart timer value. The range is from 1 to 65535 Default By default, this value is 60 seconds. Command Mode Interface Configuration Mode. Command Default Level Level: 12. Usage Guideline The Switch will be in the quiet state for a failed authentication session until the expiration of the timer. Example This example shows how to configure the restart timer to 20 for ethernet 1/0/1. Switch# configure terminal Switch(config)# interface ethernet 1/0/1 Switch(config-if)# authentication timer restart 20 Switch(config-if)# 55-7 authentication username This command is used to create a user in the local database for authentication. Use the no form of this command to remove a user in the local database. authentication username NAME password [0 | 7] PASSWORD [vlan VLAN-ID] no authentication username NAME [vlan] Parameters NAME Specifies the username with a maximum of 32 characters. 587
