4 Building Workspaces • If you are converting only the first frame of the sequence to a Paint operator, the conversion process begins. The conversion process may take some time. Once complete, the new workspace appears. Adobe Illustrator Import Limitations The following Adobe Illustrator features are not supported by the Combustion conversion process. • Mesh gradients. Standard gradients are supported, but not the more powerful mesh gradient feature introduced in Illustrator 10. • Vertical text. (Illustrator 8+) • Text on path. (Illustrator 8+) • Text styles. (Illustrator 8+) • Text scaling. (Illustrator 8 only) • Retaining object path names and layer names. (Illustrator 8 only) Replacing Footage You can replace footage in a composite with another clip, or replace the solid layer in a Paint branch (or a composite) with an image sequence or clip. To replace footage: 1. In the Workspace panel, expand the branch containing the footage you want to replace and select the Footage operator. Note: You can also select the footage in the Footage Library. The Footage Controls panel appears. Source button Replace button 2. Click Replace. The Replace Footage file browser appears. 3. Navigate to the appropriate directory, select the new clip or image file, and then click OK (ENTER). Note: If you want to replace the current footage with a series of sequentially numbered image files, enable the Collapse option. For information importing image sequences, see Importing an Image Sequence. The old footage is replaced with the new clip. Importing Audio With the scratch-track audio capabilities of Combustion, you can import audio, link audio to clips, slip audio to sync to your animation, and save audio in workspaces for reference and organization. Note: Supported file formats are QuickTime, QuickTime Streaming, AIFF, Video for Windows (Windows only), WAV, and MP3. Only one mono or stereo audio file per workspace is supported. To import audio in your workspace: 1. Select the composite or Paint branch into which you want to import audio. 2. Click the Audio tab. The Audio panel appears. 3. Click Browse. The Open Audio file browser appears. 4. Navigate to the file you want to open and click OK (ENTER). 106

Replacing Footage

You can replace footage in a composite with another

clip, or replace the solid layer in a Paint branch (or a

composite) with an image sequence or clip.

To replace footage:

In the Workspace panel, expand the branch

containing the footage you want to replace and

select the Footage operator.

Note:

You can also select the footage in the

Footage Library.

The Footage Controls panel appears.

Click Replace.

The Replace Footage file browser appears.

Navigate to the appropriate directory, select the

new clip or image file, and then click OK (
