Layer or object icon Expand triangles Collapse triangle Key icon Paint object Category Timeline Categories In the Timeline list, expand a layer to display its categories and channels. Expand Global Settings Transform Geometry Surface Operators To Display ambient light and background categories. Display position, scale, and pivot categories. Display Control Point, and G-Buffer categories. Display surface categories such as opacity, reflectivity, shading, and transfer modes. Display filters, operators, and their channels. Channels The Timeline list is made up of the following elements. Use Layer or Object icon Expand/collapse triangle Key icon To Toggle the Object or Layer icon to show or hide the corresponding object or layer. A yellow icon indicates that it is visible in the viewports. Display or hide categories or channels. Click the right triangle to expand an item. Click the downwards triangle to collapse an item. Turn keyframing on or off. If the key is on (highlighted), and the Animate button is enabled, a keyframe is set when you change the category. If the key is off, keyframes are not set automatically, and keyframes are disabled. Using the Timeline Modes You can view the composite or another operator in the Timeline in one of two modes: Graph or Overview. Each displays a different view of layers, objects, and keyframes. To display the Timeline in Graph or Overview mode, select an option in the Timeline controls, or press \. Graph Mode Graph mode shows the value of a category's channel over time. Select a channel in the Timeline list to display its graph line. Horizontal position represents time, while vertical position corresponds to the channel's value. If a channel has no keyframes, the line is straight. In Graph mode, you can edit a 280
