Creating Text ❚❘❘ Adding Text to a Layer You can add a Text operator to a layer in a composite. To add a Text operator to a layer: Do one of the following: • In the Workspace panel (F3), select the layer (to which you want to add text) and choose Operators | Text. • Right-click the layer in the Workspace panel and choose Operators | Text. • Select the layer in the Workspace panel, click the Operators panel (F5), and click Text from the list of Favorites. Note: You can also add a Text operator to a layer node via the Schematic view. For more information, see "Adding Nodes" in Chapter 6, "Using Schematic View''. The Text operator is added to the layer and the Text Controls panel appears. To add a text object to a layer: Do one of the following: • Type directly in the Text Editor. • In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool and begin typing. The automatic margins created for the text object correspond to the safe zone area (set in Preferences). • In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool , draw a text box in the viewport, and begin typing. This is useful when you use large text that extends beyond the edge of the image. Adding Text to a Composite You can add a Text operator to a composite. New Text operators added to a composite are inserted in a branch above the composite in the layer stack. To add a Text operator to a composite: 1. Select the composite to which you want to add a Text operator. 2. Choose Operators | Text, or right-click and choose Add Operator | Text. Note: You can also use the Operators tab to add a Text operator. In the Operators panel (F5), with nothing selected in the Workspace panel or the Schematic view, click Text in the Favorites list. 519
