4 Building Workspaces specify source layer settings independently. For more information, see Importing Multilayer Files. To select one layer from a source: 1. In the Workspace panel, select the Footage operator for the footage that contains source layers. Note: You can also select the Footage operator in the Footage Library. The Footage Controls panel appears. 2. Click the Source button. 3. Disable Merge Layers to access the individual layers. Source Layer list Merge Layers 4. Select the layer you want to see from the Source Layer list. The source layer appears. All other layers are turned off. If you enable Merge Layers, all layers reappear and are merged. Changing Footage Output Settings Use the settings in the Output controls to modify the way the original media appears in the workspace and how it plays back. When you select a Footage operator, controls appear that give you access to Source and Output settings for the selected footage. To access Output controls for a Footage operator: 1. In the Workspace panel, select the Footage operator you want to change. Note: You can also select the Footage operator in the Footage Library. The Footage Controls panel appears. 2. Click the Output button. The Output controls appear. The following sections describe the Output controls. Setting Footage Display Quality Use the Footage Controls panel to determine the display quality of the footage used for each layer or Paint branch. By using lower image quality, you can improve system performance (especially when working with many layers).
