6 Using Schematic View To make a custom "favorites" list: 1. In the Operators panel (F5), select an operator category (for example, Blur/Sharpen) from the list. Add Favorite Motion Blur operator 2. Click Add Favorite, and select an operator (for example, Motion Blur) from the list. 3. In the operator category list, click Favorites. To delete a node: Select the node, and do one of the following: • Press DELETE or BACKSPACE. • Right-click and choose Delete. When you delete a node, the nodes upstream and downstream of it are connected when possible. If the deleted node between two other nodes is a Composite operator, the nodes upstream and downstream of it are not connected. If the deleted node fed into the secondary input for a downstream node, the node upstream of the deleted node is used for that secondary input. When a layer node with connected upstream operators is deleted, a separate branch containing the operators is created. The operator is added to the default "Favorites" list. The default favorites include eight operators: Paint, Composite, Text, Edit, Particles, Timewarp, Discreet Color Corrector, and Discreet Keyer. To remove an operator from the list of favorites: 1. From the operators category list, select Favorites. 2. Click Remove, and click the operator you want to remove from the list. The eight default favorites cannot be removed. Deleting Nodes You can delete nodes in the Schematic view. Deleting Composite Operators With the exception of the Composite operator, deleting a node in the Schematic is the same as deleting a node in the Workspace panel or Timeline. When a Composite operator node is deleted from the Schematic, only the node is deleted-the inputs (upstream operators for the layers) remain in the Schematic as separate branches. When a Composite operator is deleted from the Workspace panel, the composite and the operators that compose the composite are deleted. Note: A layer can only be moved up or down in the layer stack in the Workspace panel. Rearranging the node order in the Schematic view has no effect on the actual order of the layers. This is another difference between Schematic view and Workspace panel. Customizing the Schematic View You can adjust the Schematic view to accommodate your workflow with the process tree. You can pan, zoom, and resize the Schematic view. You can also 176

Using Schematic View

To make a custom “favorites” list:

In the Operators panel (

), select an operator

category (for example, Blur/Sharpen) from the

list.

Click Add Favorite, and select an operator (for

example, Motion Blur) from the list.

In the operator category list, click Favorites.

The operator is added to the default “Favorites”

list. The default favorites include eight operators:

Paint, Composite, Text, Edit, Particles,

Timewarp, Discreet Color Corrector, and

Discreet Keyer.

To remove an operator from the list of favorites:

From the operators category list, select Favorites.

Click Remove, and click the operator you want to

remove from the list.

The eight default favorites cannot be removed.

Deleting Nodes

You can delete nodes in the Schematic view.

To delete a node:

Select the node, and do one of the following:

Right-click and choose Delete.

When you delete a node, the nodes upstream and

downstream of it are connected when possible. If the

deleted node between two other nodes is a

Composite operator, the nodes upstream and

downstream of it are not connected.

Deleting Composite Operators

With the exception of the Composite operator,

deleting a node in the Schematic is the same as

deleting a node in the Workspace panel or Timeline.

When a Composite operator node is deleted from

Note:
