Paint Interface ❚❘❘ Note: To select individual objects in a group, press CTRL while you click to select, SHIFT-click to multiselect, or CTRL+SHIFT-click and drag to marquee select objects. Toolbar--Drawing Tools Use drawing tools to create filled or stroked Paint objects. For more information, see Chapter 17, "Paint: Drawing Basics''. Freehand Tools-Use to draw freehand strokes. Use the Stroked Freehand tool to draw brush strokes. Use the Filled Freehand tool to create filled strokes. Stroked Freehand Filled Object Tools-Use to draw filled rectangles, ellipses, or polygons. You can use either the Filled Bezier tool or the Filled B-Spline tool to draw a polygon. Filled Rectangle Filled Ellipse Filled Bezier Filled B-Spline Text Tools-Use the Text tool to create and edit text. Use the Text Selection tool to create a text-based selection of the image. Text Filled Freehand Line Tool-Use to draw straight lines of any size and at any angle. Stroked Object Tools-Use to draw stroked (unfilled) rectangles, ellipses, or polygons. You can use either the Stroked Bezier tool or the Stroked B-Spline tool to draw a polygon. Stroked Rectangle Text Selection Toolbar--Selection Tools Use selection tools to select a portion of the image to which you want to paint or apply an effect. For more information, see Chapter 19, "Paint: Drawing Selections''. Note: The selection tool for text is located in the Text tools. Lasso Selection-Use to create a freehand selection. Stroked Ellipse Stroked Bezier Stroked B-Spline Magic Wand Selection-Use to select an area of contiguous color. 415
