Saving Capsules ❚❘❘ Adding Capsule Notes You can add information on the capsule setup or guidance on how it should be used. This is particularly useful to describe how the inputs should be used or how the controllers will affect the output of the capsule. To add capsule notes: 1. In the Capsule Controls panel, click Inputs. 2. In the Notes panel, enter any required details about the capsule. 2. Navigate to the directory where you want to save your capsule file, or type the path at the top of the dialog. 3. Do one of the following: • To overwrite an existing capsule file with your recent changes, select it. ▲ If you do this, your previous setup will be lost. • To create a new capsule file, enter a filename in the File field. 4. Click OK. Notes appear in the Information panel of the Basic controls (in a read-only format). You can modify the text in the Notes panel at any time. Saving Capsules You can save your capsules to create libraries of node structures for commonly used treatments such as light-wrap, grain, and overall project-look. Capsule files saved with a .ccw (Combustion capsule workspace) extension. They are re-usable and can be shared among Combustion users. To save a capsule: 1. In the Schematic view, right-click the Capsule node and choose Save Capsule. Note: Make sure the capsule is not open for editing. See Editing Capsules. The Save Capsule dialog appears. Editing Capsules Once a capsule has been created, you can add, remove, or change the configuration of operators in the process tree as you would normally do in the Schematic view. For example, you can change an operator's settings, add new inputs to the capsule, or link new footage. Note: You cannot break primary links between operators when editing a capsule. However, if you add an operator to the capsule that is not connected to another operator in the process tree, it will be added to the Workspace in the main Schematic view. If you paste an operator that has no specific input (such as a Footage or Edit operator) in the Schematic view, the pasted operator will appear in the main Schematic view or in a branch. Also, you cannot commit to disk operators in a capsule. You can also edit capsules by adding controllers to the capsule, or modifying existing ones. For more information, see Creating Controllers. Note: You cannot add additional outputs, as a Capsule operator can only contain one output. 843
