23 Keying 6. Double-click the composite in the Workspace panel to see the result in the active viewport. To see how to perform common keying tasks using the Diamond Keyer, see "Extracting Luminance Values Using the Diamond Keyer" in Chapter 23, "Keying'', "Keying Solid Color Backgrounds Using the Diamond Keyer" in Chapter 23, "Keying'', and "Keying Uneven Backgrounds in the Diamond Keyer" in Chapter 23, "Keying''. 7. Play the clip to make sure the mask covers the elements for the entire duration of the clip. Animate the masks if needed. You can also track the mask to the feature that you want to hide. Using the Diamond Keyer You can use the Diamond Keyer to extract a key based on luminance values using the shadows, midtones, or highlights, and set the tolerance, softness, and sharpness of the key. You can extract a key based on a predefined Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow color, or on a sampled color, and set the tolerance, softness, and sharpness of the key. The Diamond Keyer affects the alpha. Diamond Keyer Controls Panel Diamond Keyer Interface The following section provides a brief description of all the tools available in the Diamond Keyer. It is intended as a quick reference for those who are familiar with keying techniques. Learn more about how to use these tools later in the chapter. To add a Diamond Keyer: 1. Select the layer you want to key. 2. Choose Operators | Keying | Diamond Keyer. The Diamond Keyer Controls panel appears. Basic Controls Use the Basic controls to set the key color, and the tolerance and softness ranges. You can set these values using sliders and numeric fields, or by sampling colors in the image.
