23 Keying Suppressing Color Spill Use the Color controls to reduce the saturation of the unwanted color. To suppress a color in the image: 1. In the Keyer Controls panel, click Result in the Output options so that you can see the color spill on the image in the viewport. 2. By default, the color that is suppressed is the key color. To suppress a different color, click the Color Suppression Target picker, then sample a color from the image. 3. To plot the unwanted color on the color chart, click the Plot picker, and then sample a pixel from the area that contains color spill. In the hue spectrum, a vertical red line indicates the hue that you picked. Note: You can change the color of the plot line in the Setup controls. 4. On the left of the graph, click the Supp label to select the suppression curve. 5. Click the curve near the plot line and drag it down. Color suppression affects these hues Drag the curve to suppress the target color in underlying hues In the image, the target color is suppressed from the indicated hues. 6. To adjust the suppression curve: • Click the curve to add a control point, then drag the control point to move it. • When you click a control point, its tangent handles appear. You can drag the handles to adjust the curve. Press CTRL and drag to break the tangent handle. To unbreak the tangent, press CTRL and drag again. • Click the Delete button to the right of the graph to delete selected control points. Click Reset Selected to reset the curve to its default value. Click Reset to reset all the curves. • Double-click the Supp label on the left of the graph to select all the control points. You can also use the following keyboard shortcuts: Press DELETE CTRL+A CTRL+D To Delete selected control points. Select all control points. Deselect all control points. Hue Shift Another way to remove unwanted color from the front clip is using hue shift. You can change the hue of the color spill to another target hue that you pick from the image. For example, use hue shift to make the blue spill around a talent's hair shift to match the real hair color. You can also use hue shift to shift colors in the image toward a hue in the background. To apply a hue shift: 1. On the left of the hue spectrum, click the Hue Shift label to select the hue shift curve. 2. In the Output options, click Result so you can see the color spill in the image. 626

Suppressing Color Spill

Use the Color controls to reduce the saturation of the

unwanted color.

To suppress a color in the image:

In the Keyer Controls panel, click Result in the

Output options so that you can see the color spill

on the image in the viewport.

By default, the color that is suppressed is the key

color. To suppress a different color, click the Color

Suppression Target picker, then sample a color

from the image.

To plot the unwanted color on the color chart,

click the Plot picker, and then sample a pixel from

the area that contains color spill.

In the hue spectrum, a vertical red line indicates

the hue that you picked.

Note:

You can change the color of the plot line in

the Setup controls.

On the left of the graph, click the Supp label to

select the suppression curve.

Click the curve near the plot line and drag it

down.

In the image, the target color is suppressed from
