The selection is shown in red. • AckTimeout (Acknowledgment Timeout): Located in the group, this value is the amount of time (in seconds) that the system waits for an acknowledgment of commands (like ping) sent back and forth between the Manager and Server. The default amount of time is 20 seconds. • AckRetries (Acknowledgment Retries): Located in the group, this value determines how many times the sender retries if no acknowledgment is received. The default is 6 tries. After that, the workstation is considered down and is put offline. Change the parameters only if you are experiencing network problems with the network renderer. About the backburner.xml File When you run the Backburner Manager, Backburner Server, or Backburner Queue Monitor application, Backburner creates or updates an Extensible Markup Language initialization file called backburner.xml. This file is located in the C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Backburner\Network directory. The backburner.xml file contains the configuration of the network rendering system, including Queue Monitor, Manager, and Server settings. Most of the settings in the backburner.xml file can be changed via the Manager or Server General Properties dialog. However, the following parameters can only be changed by editing the backburner.xml file. • MaxBlockSize: Located in the group, this value is the maximum size of a data packet sent when transferring large blocks, such as projects. For slow connections like modems, you can use a smaller packet size such as 1024. Changing the XML File Before editing the backburner.xml file, create a backup file. Make sure the Manager and Server applications are shut down (or the services are uninstalled) before editing the backburner.xml file. Note: Only your network administrator should edit the backburner.xml file. Open the backburner.xml file in a web browser or text editor and edit the values. About the backburner.xml File

When you run the

Backburner

Manager,

Backburner

Server, or

Backburner

Queue Monitor application,

Backburner

creates or updates an Extensible Markup

Language initialization file called

backburner.xml

This file is located in the

C:\Program

Files\Autodesk\Backburner\Network

directory.

The

backburner.xml

file contains the configuration

of the network rendering system, including Queue
