Changing Text Attributes ❚❘❘ Text Face Controls Use the Face controls to make the text object a solid color, color gradient or texture, and to adjust the opacity and softness of the text object. Color-Sets the color of the text face for of the text object. Note: To change the color of a character in a text object, use the foreground color box in the Modes controls. Opacity-Sets the opacity of the text face. The Opacity setting applies to the Solid, Gradient and Texture options. Softness-Sets the softness (blur) of the text face. The Softness setting applies to the Solid, Gradient and Texture options. Solid-Uses a solid color for the text face. Gradient-Uses a color gradient for the text face. Texture-Uses an image or operator from the workspace as a texture for the text face. You can also import an image from disk. Changing the Color Use the color box to change the solid color attributes of the text object. To change the color of a text object: 1. Select the text object. 2. In the Text Controls panel (F8), click Attributes. 3. Click Face. 4. Click the small gray box on the Face button to enable Face. When enabled, the small box is yellow and the Face controls are displayed. 5. Click Solid. 6. To pick a color, do one of the following: • Click the color box and select a color in the Pick Color dialog, then click OK. • Click the Color Picker tool, and click the color you want in the viewport. Color box Color Picker tool The text object is the selected color. Note: In Paint and Text, clicking the color box in either the Attributes panel or the Modes controls displays the Pick Color dialog. Adjusting the Opacity Use Opacity to adjust the opacity of the text object. The Opacity setting applies to the Solid, Gradient and Texture options of the text object. To adjust the opacity of a text object: 1. Select the text object. 2. Enter an opacity value in the Opacity field. Note: To change the Opacity value, you can scrub in the Opacity field, click the Opacity field once and enter the value, or double-click the Opacity field and enter the value in the Enter Opacity dialog. Text Face Controls

Use the Face controls to make the text object a solid

color, color gradient or texture, and to adjust the

opacity and softness of the text object.

Color

—Sets the color of the text face for of the text

object.

Note:

To change the color of a character in a text

object, use the foreground color box in the Modes

controls.

Opacity

—Sets the opacity of the text face. The

Opacity setting applies to the Solid, Gradient and

Texture options.

Softness

—Sets the softness (blur) of the text face.

The Softness setting applies to the Solid, Gradient

and Texture options.

Solid

—Uses a solid color for the text face.

Gradient

—Uses a color gradient for the text face.

Texture

—Uses an image or operator from the

workspace as a texture for the text face. You can also

import an image from disk.

Changing the Color

Use the color box to change the solid color attributes

of the text object.

To change the color of a text object:

Select the text object.

In the Text Controls panel (

), click Attributes.

Click Face.

Click the small gray box on the Face button to

enable Face.

When enabled, the small box is yellow and the

Face controls are displayed.

Click Solid.

To pick a color, do one of the following:

•

Click the color box and select a color in the Pick

Color dialog, then click OK.

•

Click the Color Picker tool, and click the color

you want in the viewport.

The text object is the selected color.

Note:

In Paint and Text, clicking the color box in

Adjusting the Opacity

Use Opacity to adjust the opacity of the text object.

The Opacity setting applies to the Solid, Gradient

and Texture options of the text object.

To adjust the opacity of a text object:

Select the text object.

Enter an opacity value in the Opacity field.

Note:

To change the Opacity value, you can scrub

in the Opacity field, click the Opacity field once

and enter the value, or double-click the Opacity

field and enter the value in the Enter Opacity

dialog.
