Choosing an Image Format The Format options determine the type of file created when you render the project. Several of the format options provide a choice of codecs (compressors/decompressors) that you can use. These require you to specify the codec and other related compression settings. You can use the QuickTime format to create a single compressed movie file that you can then play back with your choice of video card. Or you can choose any of the sequence formats to create a series of sequentially numbered images, instead of a single compressed movie file. To choose a format: 1. Choose File | Render (CTRL+R). 2. Select an option from the Format list. If you select a format that requires additional settings, the Options button is enabled. 3. Click Options (next to the Format list). The dialog for the selected format appears. 4. Set these options as required, and then click OK (or Close). See the following sections for more information on these options. Setting Rendering Quality Use the Quality options to control the amount of detail and image quality in the render. The higher the image quality setting, the more rendering time required. You can use Draft, for example, to quickly obtain a preview of the final clip. Since this creates a low-quality image, it requires much less rendering time. The Settings button next to the Quality list lets you access various settings for 3D composites that also control the final image result. The button is unavailable for other operators. The settings include anti-aliasing, supersampling, and render effects options, as well as which view to render from (Camera or Perspective). The default settings for the composite are used unless you change them for rendering via the Settings dialog. To set the rendering quality: 1. On the Output Settings panel, select an option from the Quality list. Quality list The following options are available. Select Preview Best Medium Draft To Render clips at full resolution. Choosing an Image Format

The Format options determine the type of file
