Working with Nodes ❚❘❘ To hide the Schematic view: Do any of the following: • Choose Window | Schematic, press F12, or press '(the ~ key). • Right-click the viewport and choose Schematic. • Click the Schematic button . • Double-click an operator in Workspace panel. • Choose Window | Footage Library (SHIFT+F12 or SHIFT+~). • Triple-click a node to show the operator in the viewport-to make the operator the current operator. Working with Nodes The Schematic view shows nodes and connections (lines that connect nodes). There are several types of nodes: • Operator-the most common node. • Connection-a node representing an input for an operator. In the case of a Composite operator, the visible connection nodes are layers. • Output-a node representing the Render Queue settings for an operator. • Group-a node that represents several nodes that have been grouped. • Dummy-a node that represents a connection not shown in the exclusive view of a group's contents. In other words, a dummy node shows where the real node for the next higher group level is. Selecting Nodes You can select and manipulate nodes in the Schematic view. Click a node to select it, or CTRLclick to select more than one node. You can also drag a selection box around several nodes to select a group of nodes. When you select a node, it becomes highlighted in yellow or light gray, depending on the color scheme you use for the interface. You can use shortcuts to select or deselect multiple nodes. Press CTRL-click CTRL+A CTRL+D To Add the current node to previously selected nodes. Select all the nodes in the Schematic. Deselect all nodes in the Schematic. Note: Click a connection to select it. You can only select one connection at a time. Using Node Commands The operator name, along with the icon, is displayed on the node. You can turn off a node the same way as in the Workspace panel, by clicking the icon. When an operator is turned off, a red line appears across the node in the Schematic view and the icon appears gray. Operator node off Layer node off As you work in the Schematic view, you can view and modify operator settings in the Controls panel. To view an operator's controls: Double-click a node. The selected node's controls appear, but the current viewport display is unaffected. Schematic Context Menus Context menus provide quick access to Schematic view commands. To hide the Schematic view:

Working with Nodes

The Schematic view shows nodes and connections

(lines that connect nodes). There are several types of

nodes:

•

Selecting Nodes

You can select and manipulate nodes in the

Schematic view. Click a node to select it, or

Note:
