6 Using Schematic View To disconnect a node: Press ALT and drag the node. If the node has a secondary input (such as a keying operator), it remains connected to the node. To reposition a node between two connected nodes: Press ALT and drag the node onto the connection between two nodes. You can move a node from one connection to another by holding ALT while dragging the node out of one connection and into another. Organizing Nodes As the process tree is built, you can practice good "housekeeping" by moving, grouping, and renaming nodes as the tree grows more complex. To help you organize the nodes, you can also specify the direction of the process tree flow. The default Schematic flow direction is from left to right. For details, see Changing Schematic Flow Direction. As you work with the process tree, you can also copy and paste nodes and branches, and delete unnecessary nodes. Previewing Nodes You can scrub a node to view the clip at that point in the branch. To do this, click in the upper third of the node and drag back and forth. When you release the mouse button, the thumbnail snaps back to the current frame (as indicated in the Frame controls). Moving Nodes You can move a node or group of nodes, a branch, or the entire process tree. To move a node, click in the lower two thirds of a node and drag. To move a group of nodes, CTRL-click in the lower two thirds of the nodes and drag. When you paste nodes, they can go into a branch, or they can become separate branches. To copy and paste a node: 1. Select the node to be copied. 2. Choose Edit | Copy (CTRL+C). 3. To disconnect a node:

Press

and drag the node.

If the node has a secondary input (such as a keying

operator), it remains connected to the node.

the branch. To do this, click in the upper third of the

node and drag back and forth.

When you release the mouse button, the thumbnail
