10 Using Masks For information on using the Transform controls to edit mask objects, see "Editing Object Transform Properties" in Chapter 17, "Paint: Drawing Basics''. Settings Controls Use the Settings Controls to set default object creation options, mask spline and edge color preferences, and to import and/or export mask operator setups. Settings Controls for Mask Operators . To access the Settings controls: • In Paint, click the Settings button in the Paint Controls panel. • In a mask operator, click the Settings button in the Mask Controls panel. Default Object Duration When you create a mask in Paint or in a mask operator, its initial duration is determined by the option selected from the Default Object Duration list. Select 1 Frame All Frames Current To End Frame Number Of Frames To Add masks with a duration of a single frame. Add masks with a duration equal to the duration of the workspace. Add masks with a duration that extends from the current frame to the end frame of the workspace. Note: The Default Duration setting does not prevent you from changing the object's duration after creating it. Spline and Edge Color You can change the color of the mask outline and mask offset edges via the Settings controls in Paint and in a mask operator. • Click the Spline Color box to change the color of the mask outline. • Click the Edge Color box to change the color of the inner and outer mask offset edges. The default colors are the same for the Paint and mask operators. You can change the default colors by setting the colors when no objects are selected.
