Setting Bit Depth ❚❘❘ To change composite bit depth: 1. In the Workspace panel, select the Composite operator. 2. In the Composite Controls panel, click Output. To change Edit operator bit depth: 1. In the Workspace panel, select the Edit operator. 2. In the Edit controls, click Output. Bit Depth list 3. From the Bit Depth list, select another bit depth. Note: LUT controls are not available for the composite; you can access them in the Footage or Bit Depth Converter operators instead. Setting Edit Operator Bit Depth You can set the bit depth when you create an Edit operator. The Edit operator changes the bit depth of all footage to match the selected setting. If you open footage into an Edit operator (using File | Open), the settings (including bit depth) are taken from the first piece of footage selected. You can always change the bit depth of the Edit operator later. Bit Depth list 3. From the Bit Depth list, select another bit depth. Adding a Bit Depth Converter You can promote and demote bit depth mid-stream using the Bit Depth Converter operator. For example, you can increase bit depth to increase the number of possible colors before an operator such as the Keyer. After the Keyer, you can decrease the bit depth to save memory. To change bit depth mid-stream: 1. In the Workspace panel, select the operator after which the bit depth will change (in other words, the one directly upstream of the bit depth change). 2.
