5 Compositing To switch a composite from 3D to 2D: 1. Select the Composite in the Workspace panel and press F8, or double-click the composite node in the Schematic view. The Composite Controls panel appears. 2. Click Output to show the Output controls. the complexity of the workspaces that you can create. Note: Nested 3D composites are designed so that any fully transparent pixels in the image are replaced with black to optimize rendering. This can affect subsequent operators that attempt to display previously transparent pixels as opaque again, such as a Matte Controls operator. 3. Enable the 2D Mode button. The panels for the other controls are adjusted for the selected compositing mode. See Comparing 3D and 2D Options for a list of changes. Creating a Nested Composite You can create a layer in a composite that contains a new composite. The output of this new, nested composite is the source for the layer. You can then import clips and images, create layers, and add operators to the new composite just as you would normally. To create a nested composite: 1. Select a composite in the Workspace panel. Working with Nested Composites When you nest a composite, you move it (and everything it contains) onto a single layer in another composite. This in a sense "collapses" the composite onto the layer, with an important difference-you can still modify all of the elements in the nested composite. For example, you can move layers, add effects, and import footage just as you would normally. Using nesting, you can organize the elements in the workspace by grouping them together, or apply effects to multiple layers at once. You can create nested composites or choose to move layers into a nested composite. Layers in a nested composite can be moved and reordered in the same way as in any other composite. To switch a composite from 3D to 2D:

Working with Nested Composites

When you nest a composite, you move it (and

everything it contains) onto a single layer in another

composite. This in a sense “collapses” the composite

onto the layer, with an important difference—you

can still modify all of the elements in the nested

composite. For example, you can move layers, add

effects, and import footage just as you would

normally.

Using nesting, you can organize the elements in the

workspace by grouping them together, or apply

effects to multiple layers at once.

You can create nested composites or choose to move

layers into a nested composite. Layers in a nested

composite can be moved and reordered in the same

way as in any other composite. There is no limit to

the complexity of the workspaces that you can

create.

Note:
