17 Paint: Drawing Basics A bounding box surrounds the group, and the name Group is highlighted in the Workspace panel and Timeline list. 2. Choose Object | Ungroup. In the Workspace panel and Timeline list, the object called Group is replaced by the individual objects' original names. Cutting, Copying, and Pasting Objects Use the cut, copy, and paste commands to copy objects within a Paint operator, and between Paint operators. You can also duplicate objects to create a copy of an object in the same Paint operator. In the viewport, a bounding box surrounds each object. Changing Object Stacking Order Each object you create occupies a position in the Paint operator stack and is represented by a name in the Workspace panel and Timeline. As you draw, make selections, or add effects, each new object is added to the active viewport in front of the other objects. In the Workspace panel and Timeline, the new objects are above the other object. You can change the stacking order of the objects in your branch at any time. Changing the appearance of the objects and the effects may affect the underlying clip or still image. For more information, see "Stacking Order" in Chapter 16, "Introduction to Paint''. Cutting and Pasting Objects You can cut and paste objects from one Paint operator to another. To cut an object from a Paint operator: 1. Select the object. 2. Choose Edit | Cut. The object is removed from the operator. To paste an object into a Paint operator: 1. Select the Paint operator into which you want to paste the object that was previously cut. 2. Choose Edit | Paste. The object appears in the same relative position in the operator, whether you paste it into the same or a different Paint operator. Pasted objects include all their original settings. Copying and Duplicating Objects Use the copy and paste commands to copy objects between Paint operators. Use the duplicate command to copy objects in the same operator. Duplicate combines copy and paste into a single command. You can also copy the motion path from one object to another. To copy an object from one operator to another: 1. Select the object. 2. Choose Edit | Copy. 470

Objects

Use the cut, copy, and paste commands to copy
