Creating Paint Objects ❚❘❘ Specifying Opacity and Draw Mode Opacity and draw mode affect the way objects appear in the viewport. To specify opacity: In the Modes controls of the Paint Controls panel, drag the Opacity field. Opacity field Rectangles drawn with different brush sizes To select a brush: 1. In the Paint Controls panel, click the Brush button. The Default brushes palette is displayed. 2. Select a brush from the Brushes palette. Modes list To specify a draw mode: In the Modes controls of the Paint Controls panel, select a draw mode from the Modes list. For information about the available draw modes, see "Modes Controls" in Chapter 16, "Introduction to Paint''. Selecting a Brush Many drawing tools also work together with brushes, which affect the application of paint strokes. Obviously, when using a paint brush, the brush you select determines the size of the brush strokes. Also, when you create an outline of a rectangle (a stroked object), the outline's thickness depends on the size and shape of the selected brush. For information on customizing brushes or selecting different brush palettes, see "Brush Controls" in Chapter 16, "Introduction to Paint''.
