Mask Tool Interface ❚❘❘ When you click the Toolbar tab (F2), the mask tools appear. Mask tools 4. Select a mask tool and begin drawing the mask. If the mask tool you want to use is not visible, clickdrag the mask tool icon and choose it. For the mask tool options in Paint, see "Paint Toolbar" in Chapter 16, "Introduction to Paint''. Tool options To create a mask from a Paint operator: 1. Select the layer to which you want to add a mask. 2. Choose Operators | Paint. Paint becomes the current operator in the active viewport. 3. Show the Toolbar to access the mask tools. The mask tools appear at the bottom of the Toolbar. Mask Tool Interface This section briefly describes all the mask tools in Combustion. It is intended as a quick reference for those who are familiar with creating masks. Learn more about how to use these tools later in this chapter. Mask Toolbar The Mask Toolbar is divided into two sections: tools and tool options. Each tool has its own set of options. The tools described in this section are found in both the mask operator toolbar and Paint toolbar. Mask tools Freehand Mask Click the Freehand Mask tool mask. to draw a freehand A triangle in the lower right corner of a tool icon indicates it contains several tools. Click-drag the mask tool icon with that triangle to access the list of mask tools. Make Curve Enable the Make Curve option if you want to modify control points for the freehand mask after drawing it. (If you forget to enable Make Curve before you draw a mask, you can select the freehand mask object, then choose Object | Make Curve.) 237
