Editing Clips ❚❘❘ To cut and paste a segment in the Edit timeline: 1. Select the segment you want to cut. See Selecting Segments in the Timeline. 2. Set Ripple or Overwrite mode. See Setting Ripple and Overwrite Modes. 3. Press CTRL+X. The segment is removed from the Edit timeline. 4. Do one of the following: • Move the current time indicator to where you want to paste the segment. • Mark in and/or out points. See Performing OnePoint Edits and Performing Two-Point Edits. 5. Press CTRL+V. The segment is added to the new location in the Edit timeline. Note: To add the segment multiple times, repeat steps 3-5 as required. To copy a segment in the Edit timeline: 1. Select the segment you want to copy. See Selecting Segments in the Timeline. 2. Press CTRL+C. 3. Set Ripple or Overwrite mode. See Setting Ripple and Overwrite Modes. 4. Do one of the following: • Move the current time indicator to where you want to paste the segment. • Mark in and/or out points. See Performing OnePoint Edits and Performing Two-Point Edits. 5. Press CTRL+V. The segment is copied to the new location in the Edit timeline. Note: To add the segment multiple times, repeat steps 3-5 as required. The segment is added to the selected Edit operator and appears at the end of Edit timeline. Trimming Segments Trim segments to add or remove frames from the segment. Combustion keeps track of the source material that goes into trimmed segments, so you can go back and reintroduce frames you had previously trimmed out. These frames are called head and tail frames. Head (H) frames and tail (T) frames are the frames at the beginning and end of the segment that are part of the original clip, but not used in the current segment. They are also used for blending transitions such as dissolves and wipes. 395

To cut and paste a segment in the Edit timeline:

Select the segment you want to cut. See

The segment is removed from the Edit timeline.

Trimming Segments

Trim segments to add or remove frames from the

Combustion
