16 Introduction to Paint Shape object Selection object Object Color Modes You can apply different color modes to any Paint object. These are: solid color, gradient, reveal, and clone. For more information on color modes, see Chapter 18, "Paint: Advanced Drawing Tools''. Stacking Order The stacking order refers to the placement of the objects in a stack. Objects at the bottom of the stack are covered by objects at the top of the stack. Mask object To change object type: 1. Select the Paint object via the viewport, the Workspace panel (F3), or the Timeline (F4). 2. In the Paint Controls panel (F8), click Modes to access the Modes controls. 3. Select an object type from the Object list. Object list Highest object in stack appears in front of other objects in the viewport. The object changes to the specified object type (Shape, Selection, or Mask). Each object you create occupies its position in the operator and is represented by a name in the Timeline and the Workspace panel. As you draw, make selections or masks, or add effects, each new object is added to the active viewport in front of the other objects. You can change the stacking order of the objects in the operator at any time, changing the appearance of the objects and their effects on the underlying clip or still image. 408
