Text Controls ❚❘❘ 4. Click Enable Shadow. A default drop shadow appears behind the selected Paint object. 5. Modify the Shadow parameters as needed. You can see the effects of your modifications in the preview window to the right of the controls. 6. Click the Color box or use the Color Picker tool to specify the drop shadow color. 4. Do one of the following: • Type directly in the Text Editor. • In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool (or press T) and begin typing. If the Text tool is not visible, click-drag the Text Selection tool and choose the Text tool. • In the Toolbar (F2), click the Text tool (or press T), draw a text box in the viewport, and begin typing. If the Text tool is not visible, clickdrag the Text Selection tool and choose the Text tool. For more information on using the Text, see Chapter 20, "Animating Text''. Settings Controls The Settings controls enable you to set Paint options. Text Controls Similarly to adding a Text operator to a layer, you can add text by applying a Paint operator to the layer. To add text using a Paint operator: 1. In the Workspace panel (F3), select the layer to which you want to add the Paint operator. 2. Choose Operators | Paint, or right-click and choose Operators | Paint. Note: You can also add a Paint operator to a layer node via the Schematic view. The Paint operator opens and the Paint Controls panel appears. 3. Click Text to access the Text controls. Default Object Duration-Specifies the initial duration for all new objects. You can change the default setting in the Paint Controls panel or in the Combustion Preferences dialog. See "Setting Paint Preferences" in Chapter 2, "Welcome to Combustion'' Select 1 Frame All Frames Current To End Frame To Add objects with a duration of a single frame. Add objects with a duration equal to the duration of the workspace. Add objects with a duration that extends from the current frame to the end frame of the workspace. 441
