16 Introduction to Paint Area Selection Tools-Use to select a rectangular, elliptical, or polygonal area of the image. You can use either the Bezier Selection tool or the B-Spline Selection tool to select a polygonal area of the image. Rectangle Selection Ellipse Selection Pen Pressure Tool options Bezier Selection B-Spline Selection Toolbar--Mask Tools Use these tools to mask off portions of a clip. For more information, see Chapter 10, "Using Masks''. Freehand Mask Tool-Use to draw a freehand mask over the current frame. Note: If you select the Freehand tool to draw a paint object using a pen and tablet, the Pen Pressure tool options are enabled. Filled Rectangle Tool options Area Mask Tools-Use to draw a rectangular, elliptical, or polygonal mask over the current frame. You can use either the Bezier Mask tool or the B-Spline Mask tool to draw a polygonal mask. Rectangular Mask Elliptical Mask Bezier Mask In some cases, when you select an option, the tool options are updated to display additional options. For example, if you select Fixed from the Mode list, width and height text boxes appear. After creating an object, additional tool options are available. Again, tool options vary based on tools available for that object. The following tool options are for a gradient filled B-Spline object. B-Spline Mask Paint Tool Options The tool options appear at the bottom of the Toolbar when you select a tool. Each tool has its own set of options. 416
