12 Creating Animations Press CTRL+DOWN ARROW CTRL+LEFT ARROW CTRL+RIGHT ARROW To select The next object in the Timeline list. Collapse the selected item. Expand the selected item. To navigate between keyframes: 1. Select the Timeline or press F4. 2. Do either of the following: • To go to the next keyframe, choose Movie | Go to Next Keyframe, or press SHIFT+PAGE DOWN. • To go to the previous keyframe, choose Movie | Go to Previous Keyframe, or press SHIFT+PAGE UP. To incrementally navigate in the Timeline: 1. Select the Timeline or press F4. 2. Choose Movie | Increment Time, or press CTRL+/ . The Increment Time dialog appears. Selecting Layers in the Timeline Before you can edit a layer in the active viewport, you have to select it. To select a layer in the Timeline: 1. In the Toolbar, click the Arrow tool . 2. In the Timeline list, click the layer name. In the active viewport, the selected layer is highlighted. Note: You can also click the layer in a viewport to select it, or click it in the Workspace panel. To select multiple layers at once: In the Timeline list, drag a selection box around the layers that you want to select, or CTRL-click each one. To select a range of layers, select the first one, and then SHIFT-click the last one in the range. 3. Enter the required number of frames, and then click OK (ENTER). The current time increases by the specified number of frames. 4. To increment by the same number of frames that you entered in step 3, do either of the following: • Choose Movie | Next Step Frame, or press CTRL+PAGE DOWN to increment forward. • Movie | Previous Step Frame, or press CTRL+PAGE UP to increment backward. 5. To change the number of frames to increment, repeat steps 2-3 as required. Showing or Hiding Layers in the Viewports By default, layers are visible in the viewports. Click the icon next to the layer in the Timeline list to toggle the visibility on and off. To toggle the visibility of several layers at once, select the layers, then choose Object | Toggle Visibility. Note: When you render the workspace, hidden layers are not rendered. 286

To navigate between keyframes:

Select the Timeline or press

Do either of the following:

To go to the next keyframe, choose Movie | Go

To incrementally navigate in the Timeline:

Select the Timeline or press

Choose Movie | Increment Time, or press

Enter the required number of frames, and then

click OK (

Selecting Layers in the Timeline

Before you can edit a layer in the active viewport,

you have to select it.

To select a layer in the Timeline:

In the Toolbar, click the Arrow tool

In the Timeline list, click the layer name.

In the active viewport, the selected layer is

highlighted.

Note:

You can also click the layer in a viewport to

select it, or click it in the Workspace panel.

To select multiple layers at once:

In the Timeline list, drag a selection box around the

layers that you want to select, or

Showing or Hiding Layers in the

Viewports

By default, layers are visible in the viewports. Click

the icon next to the layer in the Timeline list to toggle

the visibility on and off.

Note:
