3 Quick Tour Tail Trim Cursor 3. Click and drag the segment's tail to the left. As the segment's tail is trimmed, notice how the tail frame indicator updates. Tail Frame Indicator 7. In the Transition controls, click the Go to Next Segment button to move the current time indicator to the beginning of the next segment. Note: You can also click and drag the indicator to move it. Go to Next Segment 4. When the tail frame indicator reaches 10, release the segment. The segment's tail has been trimmed by 10 frames. 5. Position the cursor over the head of the second segment in the Edit timeline until the head trim cursor appears. 8. From the Type list, choose Dissolve. 9. From the Position list, choose Middle. 10.In the Duration field, enter 20. 11.Click Insert. A Dissolve transition is created in between the two segments, lasting 20 frames. 6. Click and drag the segment's head to the right. When the head frame indicator reaches 10, release the segment. The segment's head is trimmed by 10 frames. Note: You can also create a Dissolve by pressing D, or choosing Editing | Insert Dissolve. 12.Press HOME to go to the beginning of the timeline, then press the Play button in the playback controls to preview the transition. 68
