32 Network Rendering To start the Monitor application: 1. Go to the workstation designated as the render monitor. 2. Do one of the following: • Choose Start | Program Files | Backburner | Autodesk | monitor. • Open the Backburner folder and double-click monitor.exe. The Backburner Queue Monitor window appears. The list of servers on the Network Job Settings panel is updated. If the manager cannot be found with the current preference settings, the message "Manager not found" appears in a dialog. Click OK. 3. Do one of the following: • In the Backburner Queue Monitor, choose Manager | Connect. • In the Backburner Queue Monitor toolbar, click the Connect button. 4. In the Connect To Manager dialog, enter the manager name or IP address and then click OK. Once the connection to Backburner Manager has been established, current jobs and servers appear in the Backburner Queue Monitor panes. Note: If the manager is not found or if Backburner Queue Monitor has connected to the wrong manager, see Connecting to the Manager. Viewing Network Jobs Use the Backburner Queue Monitor to view and render jobs submitted to a Backburner Manager. Once a job is submitted to the rendering queue, you can view the status and progress of the job in the Backburner Queue Monitor. The Backburner Queue Monitor displays job information in its upper panes, and server information in its lower panes. For information about servers, see Managing Servers. Viewing Detailed Job Information You can view detailed information about any job that has been submitted to Backburner Manager using Backburner Queue Monitor. To view a job's detailed information: Click the job in the left pane. The detailed information on the selected job is displayed in the upper right pane. Enabling Read/Write Access Backburner Queue Monitor can be launched from any workstation on which it is installed, and any number of Backburner Queue Monitor instances can connect to the same Backburner Manager. However, only the first workstation to start Backburner Queue Monitor and connect to the manager can control and edit the jobs. All other workstations that start the Backburner Queue Monitor application have read-only access to the job queue. To have read-write access to jobs in the queue: 1. In the Backburner Queue Monitor, choose Manager | Properties. The Manager Properties dialog displays the name of the Manager. 2. Go to the workstation identified as the Manager and exit the Backburner Queue Monitor application. 826

To start the Monitor application:

Go to the workstation designated as the render

monitor.

Do one of the following:

•

Choose Start | Program Files

| Backburner | Autodesk | monitor.

•

Open the

Backburner

folder and double-click

monitor.exe

The

Backburner

Queue Monitor window appears.

The list of servers on the Network Job Settings

panel is updated.

If the manager cannot be found with the current

preference settings, the message “Manager not

found” appears in a dialog. Click OK.

Do one of the following:

•

In the

Backburner

Queue Monitor, choose

Manager | Connect.

•

In the

Backburner

Queue Monitor toolbar, click

the Connect button.

In the Connect To Manager dialog, enter the

manager name or IP address and then click OK.

Once the connection to

Backburner

Manager has

been established, current jobs and servers appear

in the

Backburner

Queue Monitor panes.

Note:
