Changing Text Attributes ❚❘❘ To adjust the opacity of the outline: Enter an opacity value in the Opacity field. To soften the outline: Enter a softness value in the Softness field. The higher the value, the more blurred the outline becomes. Note: When Face is enabled, you can soften the outline independently of the text Face attribute to give a glow effect to the text object. To change the size of the outline: Enter a value in the Size field. The higher the value, the wider the outline. Drawing Priority You can set the drawing priority of the outline to appear above or below the Face attribute of the text object. • To draw the outline over the text face, select Over Face from the Drawing Priority list. Text Shadow Controls Use the Shadow controls to edit the shadow of a text object. Color-Sets the color of the shadow. Opacity-Sets the opacity of the shadow. Distance-Sets the offset distance (in pixels) of the shadow from the text object. Softness-Sets the softness of the shadow. Direction-Sets the direction of the shadow. Scale-Sets the size of the shadow. Creating a Text Shadow Use the Shadow attribute to create and edit the shadow of a text object. To set the drawing priority of the outline: Do one of the following. • To draw the outline under the text face, select Under Face from the Drawing Priority list. Drawing Priority List To create a text shadow: 1. Select the text object. 2. In the Text Controls panel (F8), click Attributes. 537
