17 Paint: Drawing Basics Some object types only have control points if they are created with the Make Curve option enabled: freehand strokes, lasso selections, eraser objects, text, and text selection. Note: The Magic Wand Selection tool does not create control points. When you select an object that does not have control points, the Edit Control Points option in the Toolbar is grayed out. Rotation handle Bounding box Size handle Control points 3. Click and drag one of the object's control points. Note: If the Control Points option is disabled and the object is a freehand stroke, lasso selection, text or eraser object, choose Object | Make Curve to enable control points. For more information on editing text objects, see Chapter 20, "Animating Text''. To edit an object's shape: 1. Select the object. 2. In the Toolbar, click the Edit Control Points option . The object's bounding box disappears and the object's control points appear. 4. To move multiple control points at once, click and draw a selection box around the points you want to move, and then drag any of the selected points. Note: You can nudge the position of control points by using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Adding Object Control Points You can add control points to an object after it has been created. To add a control point to an object: 1. Click the Arrow tool and then select the object. 2. In the Toolbar, click the Edit Control Points option . The object's control points appear. 462
