12 Creating Animations Playback Controls To create an animation and preview your work, you need to navigate between frames in your clip. Use the playback controls to move forward and backward between frames and to set playback in and out points. The playback controls are similar to controls on a VTR. The following playback controls are available: Click To Go to the first frame of the clip. Go to the previous frame. Play the clip backward. Play the clip. Go to the next frame. Go to the last frame of the clip. Go to the previous keyframe. Go to the next keyframe. Go to the previous marker. For information, see "Adding Markers to Operators and Layers" in Chapter 5, "Compositing''. Go to the next marker. Note: The previous/next keyframe buttons only work on motion path keyframes, not other properties. • Click or or to toggle between Play Once, Ping Pong, and Loop Play mode. • Enter a value in the Current Frame field to move to a specific frame in the animation. • Use the scrub bar to scrub through (preview) the animation or move to a specific frame. • Use the Duration field duration of the animation. to view the total • To flush the cache (shown by the cache frame indicator bar), right-click the cache meter to the right of the info palette at the bottom of the screen. Navigating in a Workspace Use the Current Frame field or the scrub bar to navigate to specific frames in the workspace. The Current Frame field displays the SMPTE timecode (or frame number) of the current frame. To move to a specific frame: 1. Click the Current Frame field. 2. Enter the timecode or frame number of the frame to which you want to move and press ENTER. You can type the value in timecode or in frame number, regardless of the units displayed in the Current Frame field. 3. Use the following shortcuts when entering timecode. Playback Controls

To create an animation and preview your work, you

need to navigate between frames in your clip. Use the

playback controls to move forward and backward

between frames and to set playback in and out

points. The playback controls are similar to controls

on a VTR.

The following playback controls are available:

The previous/next keyframe buttons only

work on motion path keyframes, not other

properties.

to toggle between

Play Once, Ping Pong, and Loop Play mode.

Enter a value in the Current Frame field

to move to a specific frame in the animation.

animation or move to a specific frame.

Navigating in a Workspace

Use the Current Frame field or the scrub bar to

navigate to specific frames in the workspace. The

Current Frame field displays the SMPTE timecode
