4 Building Workspaces 3. Do any of the following: • Show the Toolbar and select the Crop tool . Adjust the Crop box in the viewport. Disable Show Cropping to see beyond the Crop box edges. Image after cropping • Adjust the Cropping values to crop material. The Right and Bottom sliders work opposite of the usual direction to make them more intuitive for cropping. Arrows indicate positive direction for the sliders Cropping list • Select an option from the Cropping list. Available cropping options include the following. Select To Manual Crop Manually crop the edges of the selected footage using the Top, Left, Right, and Bottom fields. Individual Analyze the footage's alpha and set crop Frame keyframe values to crop unused edges for each frame. When you select this option, the footage is automatically analyzed and processed. Combine Frames Analyze the footage's alpha and set one global crop value for the entire sequence. When you select this option, the footage is automatically analyzed and processed. 4. To cancel the processing, click Stop on the Cropping dialog that appears. Note: Click the R button to reset the crop values to their default settings. Creating Proxy Footage You can create a low-resolution version of the footage for quicker feedback and lower memory requirements. You do this in the Make Proxy dialog. For example, if you are working with a filmresolution workspace, you can open the film-size layers, and use the Make Proxy dialog to render an NTSC D1 or other-sized version to disk from the original footage. You can then switch between the full resolution version and the proxy as needed. To make a proxy for a layer: 1. Select the Footage operator and show the Footage Controls panel. 2.
