In the Workspace panel, the viewport icon shown next to the operator indicates the operator is the current operator. You can also rearrange layers within the same composite branch. For example, you can move a layer in front of another layer at the same Z-position. Click the black triangle on the left to expand or collapse an item. The yellow icons next to objects and operators indicate that they are on (visible in the viewport). Click an icon to turn it off. This makes it invisible in the viewport, but does not delete it or change its properties. Note: A layer is not an operator; it is part of the Composite operator. When you select a layer, some of the controls in the Composite Controls panel apply to the layer, and some apply to the entire composite. To display an operator in the viewport using the Workspace panel: 1. If two or more viewports are displayed, select one viewport to make it active. 2. Do one of the following: • Double-click the operator. • Click the operator to select it, and click the Send Up button . • Right-click the operator, and choose Show in Viewport. The operator becomes the current operator. A viewport icon appears to the left of the operator name. Viewport icon shows the current operator Add Grain operator is off Background layer is off To select an operator: Click the operator name. An arrow appears on the right of the operator name, and the information in the Timeline and operator controls panel is updated.The viewport is not updated. These methods use the Workspace panel. Navigating in the Workspace Panel You can use various keyboard shortcuts to select objects in the Workspace panel, or expand them to show layers and objects. 16
