If multiple Trackers are selected, the Export dialog asks you to save the track data of each Tracker separately. When importing track channels, the data is applied to the currently selected tracker box. Shift Data-Imports or exports only the saved Shift channel data. (This option is not available if no Tracker data is present.) Use this option to use the tracked keyframes relative to the new object(s) and tracker boxes-the Tracker keyframes will appear relative to the currently active tracker box. When importing shift channels, the data is applied to the currently selected tracker box. Copying Shift Channels You can copy a Shift channel and paste it onto any other channel in the Timeline. For example, you can paste a Shift channel to a position channel or to the XY coordinates of a ripple effect. This can create some fun effects where the effect mimics the movement over time of your original reference feature. To copy a Shift channel: 1. Select the channel. 2. Press CTRL+C to copy the channel. 3. Select the channel to which you want to copy the shift data. 4. Press CTRL+V to paste the Shift channel onto the selected channel. The shift channel is copied to the selected channel, starting from the Current Time indicator. Choosing What to Export Import or export shift or track channels to save data that can be used with any tracking system that imports keyframe data as text files. Depending on how much information you require, you can export any or all of the following data types. Tracker Data-The tracking data specifies the X and Y position of the tracker box in relation to the origin point of the image; these are absolute coordinate values. The origin point has coordinates (0,0), and is located at the lower left corner of the image. Note that if the position of the reference box is changed during the analysis, the offset is compensated for and the exported tracking data still shows a continuous Tracker path. Shift Data-The shift data specifies the difference between the position of the reference box (0,0) and the position of the tracker box in the current frame; these are relative coordinate values. Both the tracking values and the shift values are formatted as follows: frame #: X position, Y position. Note: Unless you export using the Discreet Tracker Setup choice, the tracking data files are saved to a file with the .ascii extension. The ASCII format of plain text lines and numbers can often be read by other 2D/3D packages. 708

Shift Data

Copying Shift Channels

You can copy a Shift channel and paste it onto any

Select the channel.

Press

TRL

to copy the channel.

Select the channel to which you want to copy the

shift data.
