12 Creating Animations To change a layer's in point or out point: Drag the end of the bar to add or remove frames from the layer's in point or out point. Drag here After adjusting layer duration Note: The dotted lines that extend beyond the layer's in point and out point represent unused available frames in the imported clip. To move a layer in time: Drag the center of the bar left or right to move the layer in time. Grab layer here After dragging layer ahead in time Current Time Indicator A vertical line in the Timeline view represents the current time for the composite. Click and drag the indicator to change the current frame displayed in the active viewport. Note: You can also double-click anywhere in the Timeline view to move the indicator to that position. Zooming and Scrolling the Timeline View When you first create a workspace, the Timeline shows the duration specified for that workspace. You can zoom in or out to see the Timeline in more or less detail. To zoom in or out horizontally: In the Timeline controls, do one of the following: • Click to zoom in. Continue clicking to zoom in further. • Click to zoom out. Continue clicking to zoom out further. • Click the Frame In/Out button to fit the sequence between the mark in and mark out points in the Timeline view. • Click the Frame All button to fit the entire project in the Timeline view. • To zoom in to a specific area, right-click and drag a selection box around that area. Note: To zoom in or out, you can also move the cursor over the Timeline, press CTRL and drag the mouse left or right. The zooming is always centered 282
