22 Working with Bit Depth Graph Gadgets You can use the curve gadgets to adjust the fields and vice versa. To use the gadgets, you drag the dashed lines and the curve itself. For Straight and Log to Linear: • Reference White-the right gadget • Reference Black-the left gadget • Highlight-the top gadget • Shadow-the bottom gadget • Gamma Correction-the curve gadget For Linear to Log: • Reference White-the top gadget • Reference Black-the bottom gadget • Highlight-the right gadget • Shadow-the left gadget • Gamma Correction-the curve gadget To work with the graph: Do any of the following: • To zoom the graph, CTRL-drag. • To pan the graph, ALT-drag. • To magnify the histogram, adjust the Zoom field. Note: The Reset button resets the curves and the conversion method to Straight. To compare source and result: 1. In the LUT Editor controls, click the Source Pick tool. 2. In the viewport, select a color in the range you are adjusting. The Source swatch shows the color. As you change the LUT (using the fields or the graph), the Result swatch updates with the converted color. Differences with Bit Depth Converter If you use the LUT Editor with the Bit Depth Converter, you can use extra features. To access extra features in the Bit Depth Converter: In the Bit Depth Controls panel, click the Settings button to access the Settings controls. Using Source and Result Use the Source and Result swatches to see the result of the LUT on a color selected from the viewport. • Store-You can store five LUT settings. • The Output Color Depth is the selected bit depth of the operator's output. • The Input Depth is the bit depth of the selected operator. Note: These features are not available with the Footage operator. 596
