10 Using Masks dialog appears: Since Bezier and Cubic interpolations are not supported by Flame, mask animation curves that use Bezier/Cubic interpolations will be exported as Linear interpolations. 3. Enter a filename (and location). The *.GMask file extension is added automatically. 4. Click OK. Note: GMask setups from Combustion can be transferred to the Batch GMask module and the Modular Keyer in the Autodesk SGI-based systems. They cannot be transferred to the Batch Keyer or the Action Keyer. To import a setup: 1. Click Import. The Import GMask Setup dialog appears. 2. Navigate to the GMask Setup file which has the file extension *.GMask. 3. Click OK. Note: The GMask setups from the Batch GMask module, the Keyer in Action or Batch, and Modular Keyer (from the Autodesk SGI-based systems) can be transferred into Combustion. Mask Setup File Guidelines Use the following guidelines when creating masks in Combustion for transfer to an Autodesk SGI-based system (for example, Flame), or when transferring from an SGI-based system to Combustion. • Exported setup files only store attributes that are compatible with the GMask operator in the advanced systems products. • Mask setups that include tangent handles of different lengths transfer to the SGI-based systems as broken vertices to preserve their shape. To ensure continuous handles, use the ALT key when editing handles in Combustion. • Free-drawn masks that have not been converted to curves (with control points) are not supported in the SGI-based systems. • When using edge gradients, use only the Offset and Splines options. The In/Out option is not supported in the SGI-based systems. • To soften the edge of a mask, use Offset. Feather is not supported in the SGI-based systems. • Anti-Aliasing is not supported in the SGI-based systems. To smooth the edges of a mask, disable Anti-Aliasing and enter 1 in the Edge Gradient Offset field. • If you have multiple, intersecting masks, use the color and opacity settings. The combine modes [Replace (=), Add (+), Subtract (-), and Intersect (x)] and Global Apply Mode settings are not supported in the SGI-based systems. • Mask setups from an SGI-based system with changes in Z-depth or camera animation are not supported in Combustion. Use only X and Y transforms, and Z rotation. Exporting Paint Masks Outputs as .swf Files Combustion enables you to export Paint mask objects as .swf files. The export to Flash feature for the Paint mask objects is available in the Settings controls of the Paint Controls panel. See "Settings Controls" in Chapter 16, "Introduction to Paint''. To export a mask object as a .swf file, create your mask object using the Paint operator. See "Exporting Paint Objects as .swf File Formats" in Chapter 17, "Paint: Drawing Basics''. 264

Exporting Paint Masks Outputs as

Files

Combustion

enables you to export Paint mask

objects as

.swf

files. The export to Flash feature for

the Paint mask objects is available in the Settings

controls of the Paint Controls panel. See
