13 Creating Expressions Using the Expression Browser Combustion includes several predefined expression scripts you can use to animate channels. If you are not familiar with writing scripts, you can start by using the predefined expression scripts and change the expressions' parameters to achieve the desired results. The Expression Browser enables you to view, use, and modify predefined expression scripts for any channel or combination of channels in the workspace. To access the Expression Browser: 1. Select a channel in the Timeline. 2. Click the Exp. Browser button. The Expression Browser is context-sensitive. It displays the predefined expression applicable to the selected channel(s). The Expression Browser displays the following information: Expression Browser • At the top, the channel(s) selected. • In the left pane, a list of predefined expression categories and picons depicting the graphical representation of the predefined expression scripts applicable to the selected channel(s). The predefined expressions list is set to Show All. This means that the pane displays all the predefined expression scripts applicable to the selected channel(s). • At the top right, the Picon Frame Range field. Picons is short for personal icons. They are small constrained images representing predefined expression scripts. The Picon Frame Range enables you to decompress or compress the expression curve by setting the frame range for the curve. 314
